Oscar-winning Italian actress Sophia Loren has been hospitalized after a fall in her Geneva home, her agent confirmed on Monday.
The 89-year-old actress suffered "serious fractures" to her hip and femur, but her surgery "went well and now she needs to rest and everything will be resolved," her agent Andrea Giusti told Reuters.
The fall reportedly happened in Loren's bathroom on Sunday. Her two sons, Carlo and Edoardo Ponti, were at her bedside.
Loren is one of the most iconic actresses of the 20th century, with a career spanning over six decades. She has starred in over 100 films, including classics such as "Two Women," "Marriage Italian Style," and "Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow."
Loren has won numerous awards for her work, including two Academy Awards, a Golden Globe Award, and a BAFTA Award. She was also named one of the 100 Greatest Actors of All Time by Premiere magazine.
Her fans and admirers around the world are wishing her a speedy recovery.

20岁台湾歌手柯辰勋的离世消息，由柯母透过透过脸书在28日公布，“我离开了！爱我的人，别为我难过，我去找佛跳墙啦，佛祖说我很可爱，小弥勒佛，公德圆满。”
柯辰勋是透过歌唱选秀节目《超级红人榜》出道。据台湾媒体报道，他刚到长荣凤凰酒店工作未满三个月，却在27日凌晨被发现倒卧在员工厕所内，送医宣告不治。
酒店发声明指出，柯辰勋是在26日晚间10时31分进入员工更衣室，直到隔天凌晨被发现陈尸在其中一间厕所内。就在他走进员工厕所的前2分钟，他才在脸书发出一篇文章感谢粉丝，未料竟成为最后发文。
检警初判他心血管疾病引起的，遗体同时也发还家属。
